The function of the Protection Filter is to keep dirt, sand or splash off from the front lens. The particularly clear special glass with high transmission is naturally remunerated. The remuneration reduces the adhesion of dirt particles and water drops.
Good lenses are many times more expensive than filter, and so it is close to screwing a filter to protect the sensitive front lens. However, so that this lens protection does not associate with a permanently acting filter effect, the protective filter such as clear glass should be completely color neutral and of the highest transparency. Therefore, you should use a Protection filter that has all these properties.
Heliopan-Protection is a purely special protective filter that is optimally ground from spectacle glass and coated with a high quality compensation. It is used for optimal protection for the front lens.
Heliopan SH-PMC Multicoating
The reflection on glass / air surfaces is making a major cause of loss of contrast in objectives, the most demanding in the extreme Photography impossible. Heliopan SLIM brass mount
The Heliopan filter mounts are precision machined from brass. Brass is dimensionally stable and robust. The brass version does not generate quality-reducing mechanical stresses in the filter glass because of their very low thermal expansion, even under severe temperature fluctuations. Further, the risk of jamming is minimized in the filter thread of the lens. The black coating of brass mount prevents the possible effects of reflections on the socket.
