This premium polarizing filter increases color saturation and enhances contrast, resulting in vivid colors. Thanks to the filter, plants, for example, appear much more lifelike, autumn leaves look more colorful, and the sky appears deep blue. Additionally, the filter can be used to suppress reflections on non-metallic surfaces. Such surfaces include water, glass, and paint. Using a polarizing filter to suppress reflections offers various advantages: for instance, you can see what lies beneath a reflective water surface or behind a reflective window pane in your photos. The effect of the filter can be continuously adjusted by rotating the front part of the filter.
Tip: To achieve optimal results, you should stand at a 90° angle to the sun.
A neutral gray inherent color and the use of plane-parallel optical glasses guarantee optimal image results. The glasses are absolutely plane-parallel ground, ensuring uniform light refraction, which guarantees lossless sharpness.
Compact SLIM filter mount without front thread, allowing vignetting-free shots with extreme wide-angle lenses (approx. 18-20 mm full frame) with a construction height of only 5.3 mm.
A black brass mount ensures precise fit on the lens and easy removal during filter changes. The extension factor depends on the rotation position of the filter and the proportion of polarized light. It ranges from 2.3 to 2.8. Heliopan polarizing filters are delivered in a rotatable mount with a numbered ring, allowing the desired position and effect to be easily set for any camera type.

A polarizing filter, often referred to as a polarizer, is used in photography to block certain light waves and reduce reflections. The main difference between them lies in how they polarize light and how they affect functionality in different applications.
Linear Polarizer:
Functionality:
- A linear polarizer blocks all light waves oscillating in a specific plane. By rotating the filter, you can control which plane of polarization of the light is allowed to pass through.
Application:
- This type of polarizer is often used in landscape photography to reduce reflections from water or glass and to enhance the contrast and saturation of the sky.
Disadvantages:
- In practice, linear polarizers can be problematic when used in combination with modern DSLR and mirrorless cameras that use autofocus and TTL (Through-The-Lens) metering systems. These systems often work with semi-transparent mirrors and metering cells that can be disturbed by linear polarization, leading to inaccurate exposure measurements and focus issues.
